Zorthorn is operated by Zorthorn Esports Private Limited, a company incorporated in India. We build India's competitive gaming identity platform — giving every mobile gamer a permanent profile, ranked history, and earned badges. References to "Zorthorn", "we", "us", or "our" mean Zorthorn Esports Private Limited.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use Zorthorn:

• Account information: Your name, email address, username (IGN), and password when you register.
• Game data: Your BGMI player ID, ranked match results, kill/death statistics, and win rates — fetched from verified game APIs upon your explicit authorisation.
• Activity data: XP earned, badges unlocked, quests completed, leaderboard positions, and ZE Coin transactions within Zorthorn.
• Device & technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, and session identifiers for security and analytics.
• Communications: Messages you send to our support team.
• Business & billing information (advertisers, tournament organisers, sponsors, and participants in paid tournaments): contact name, organisation, GST number, billing address, campaign or tournament details, and — where a prize is paid to you — the payout and tax details required by law (for example bank/UPI details and PAN for TDS).

Playing Zorthorn is free. Where you pay for advertising, a tournament hosting fee, paid tournament entry, or sponsorship, the payment itself is processed by a third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of the transaction and a limited reference (such as the last four digits and payment method) — we do not store your full card number.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your competitive identity profile.
• To calculate rankings, XP, and badge eligibility based on verified match data.
• To operate leaderboards, tournaments, and daily quests.
• To send you important account notifications (new season, rank changes, badge unlocks).
• To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
• To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (India)

We process your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). Our legal bases are:

• Consent: You provide consent when you register and link your game account.
• Legitimate interests: Platform security, fraud prevention, and improving our services.
• Legal obligation: Where required by Indian law.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

• Service providers: Cloud hosting, analytics, and email services operating under strict data processing agreements.
• Game publishers: Only to verify your player account — no gameplay data is shared back.
• Law enforcement: When required by valid legal process under Indian law.

Your public profile (IGN, rank, badges) is visible to other Zorthorn users by default. You can set your profile to private in account settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Your competitive history (anonymised) may be retained for leaderboard integrity.

7. Your Rights

Under the DPDPA and applicable regulations, you have the right to:

• Access a copy of your personal data we hold.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to erasure").
• Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing before withdrawal).
• Nominate a person to exercise your rights on your behalf.

8. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain session security. We use analytics cookies (anonymised) to understand how the platform is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings without affecting core functionality.

9. Children's Privacy

Zorthorn is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has registered, contact us immediately at hello@zorthornesports.com.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Zorthorn account.

11. Advertisers, Organisers & Payments

If you buy advertising, host or sponsor a tournament, or enter a paid tournament:

• We use your business and billing information to deliver the service, raise GST-compliant invoices, provide reporting, process prize payouts, and meet tax and accounting obligations under Indian law.
• Payment processing is carried out by third-party payment providers under their own terms and privacy policies. Prize payouts may be made through a payments partner.
• We retain transaction, invoice, and prize-payout records for the period required by Indian tax and company law (generally up to 8 years), even after account deletion.
• A tournament's public result page may show your organiser or team name, standings, and prize status. It does not show identity documents, payment details, or payout account information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
