Tournament Rules

1. About These Rules

These are the standard Tournament Rules that apply to every tournament hosted on Zorthorn by Amlog Apps Pvt Ltd ("Zorthorn", "we", "us"). Each tournament also has its own tournament-specific rules — game, format, map pool, schedule, entry fee, prize pool and eligibility — published on its tournament page before registration opens. Where a tournament-specific rule conflicts with these standard rules, the tournament-specific rule applies, unless it would reduce a participant protection set out here.

By registering for a tournament you agree to these rules, the tournament-specific rules, the Terms of Service, the Fair Play Policy, and the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

2. Eligibility

• You must have a Zorthorn account in good standing and meet the age requirement in the Terms of Service (13+, with guardian consent for 13–18).
• You must meet any additional eligibility stated on the tournament page — for example region, rank range, platform, or a valid game account for the title.
• Paid-entry tournaments and cash prizes are not available to residents of Indian states or territories where paid competitive contests are restricted. It is your responsibility to confirm you are eligible before entering; entry fees paid by an ineligible participant are refunded and the entry is void.
• Zorthorn staff, the tournament organiser, and their immediate families may not compete for prizes in a tournament they administer.
• Team events: every team member must individually meet eligibility. The registered captain is responsible for the roster.

3. Registration & Check-In

• Registration opens and closes at the times shown on the tournament page. Late entries are not accepted after the deadline.
• Paid-entry tournaments require the entry fee to be paid for registration to be confirmed.
• All participants (or, for teams, a minimum number of members set by the tournament) must check in during the check-in window. Failure to check in forfeits the slot and, after the deadline, the entry fee per the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
• In-game names must match your Zorthorn profile. Substitutes and roster changes are only allowed if the tournament rules permit them and must be declared before the relevant match.
• Minimum registration: each tournament states a minimum number of participants or teams. If it is not reached by the deadline, the tournament may be cancelled and entry fees refunded in full.

4. Conduct & Fair Play

All participants must follow the Fair Play Policy. Prohibited behaviour includes, without limitation:

• Cheats, hacks, exploits, macros, or any unauthorised third-party software.
• Account sharing, smurfing, or playing on an account that is not yours.
• Match manipulation, result fixing, collusion, or deliberately losing.
• Ringers — fielding an undeclared player who is not on the registered roster.
• Harassment, hate speech, threats, or abusive conduct toward players, staff, or viewers.
• Evading a ban or competing under a false identity.

Anti-cheat and integrity checks are applied to the extent the supported game and its APIs technically allow. Participation implies consent to those checks and to the recording of match data for verification.

5. Formats & Scheduling

• Supported formats include 1v1, team vs team, battle royale, knockout / single or double elimination, league / round robin, and custom formats — the tournament page states which is used.
• The bracket, seeding method, match times, lobby details, and any tie-break rules are published before the first match.
• Participants must be ready at the scheduled match time. A no-show grace period (default 10 minutes unless stated otherwise) applies, after which the match may be awarded to the opponent.
• Rescheduling is only permitted with organiser approval and only where the format allows it.

6. Match Rules & Results

• Each match is played under the settings on the tournament page (game mode, map/pool, rounds, scoring).
• Players are responsible for capturing evidence — final scoreboard screenshots, and video where the tournament requires it.
• The winning side (or both sides, if required) reports the result within the reporting window. Unreported results may be scored as a loss for both sides or resolved by the organiser from available evidence.
• Technical issues: if a disconnect or server fault occurs, follow the remake / replay rule on the tournament page. Zorthorn is not responsible for a participant's own internet, device, or power failure.

7. Disputes

Disputes are handled through a consistent process: Rules → Evidence → Decision → Documentation → Appeal / Review.

• Raise a dispute through the tournament's dispute channel within the window stated on the tournament page (default: 30 minutes after the match result is posted).
• Provide evidence. Claims without evidence are weighed accordingly.
• The organiser or Zorthorn admin issues a decision based on these rules and the tournament rules. Decisions are recorded.
• You may request one review if you have new evidence or believe a rule was misapplied. Review outcomes are final.

8. Results, Winners & Prizes

• Final standings are confirmed only after all disputes are closed and integrity checks are complete.
• Winners are verified (identity, eligibility, and clean fair-play record) before any prize is processed.
• Prize pool, prize split, and any minimum-registration condition affecting the prize are published before registration and cannot be reduced after registration opens except through the published change / cancellation process.
• Cash prizes are paid to eligible verified winners through the platform's approved payout process, normally within 15 business days of final results. Winners must provide the payout and tax details required by law.
• Prizes may be subject to TDS and other deductions required under Indian tax law; the net amount and any certificate are provided to the winner.
• Unclaimed prizes: if a winner does not provide valid payout details within 60 days, the prize may be forfeited or redistributed as stated in the tournament rules.

9. Penalties

Depending on severity, breaches may result in: a warning, loss of a round or match, point deductions, disqualification, forfeiture of prizes and entry fee, removal from the platform's tournament programme, or a full account ban. Serious integrity breaches (cheating, match-fixing) carry disqualification with no refund and may be reported where required by law. Penalty decisions are recorded in the tournament's internal audit trail.

10. Organiser Obligations

Every organiser is verified before hosting and must:

• Publish complete, accurate tournament rules before registration opens.
• Fund and honour the advertised prize pool, or use Zorthorn's prize-handling process where offered.
• Administer the tournament fairly and apply these rules consistently.
• Not change entry fee, prize pool, schedule, or eligibility after registration opens except through the published change process, with notice to registered participants and refunds where applicable.
• Comply with the Terms of Service and applicable Indian law, including tax and prize-disclosure requirements.

11. Changes & Cancellation

Material terms may only change through a published change process with notice to registered participants. Cancellations and the resulting refunds are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy. If a tournament is cancelled before the first match, entry fees are refunded in full and any committed prize funds are returned to the funder.

12. Liability

Tournaments are provided for competitive entertainment. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Zorthorn's liability arising from a tournament is limited to the fees you paid for that tournament. Zorthorn is not liable for a participant's own equipment, connectivity, or for third-party game-server outages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Legal Status

These rules are platform policy. They operate alongside, and do not override, applicable Indian law. Zorthorn tournaments are skill-based competitive events; betting, wagering, and games of chance are not permitted. Zorthorn does not represent that any tournament is "government-approved" or "guaranteed legally compliant". Where a state restricts paid contests, paid entry and cash prizes are not offered to residents of that state.

14. Governing Law

These rules are governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, without prejudice to any consumer remedy available to you by law.
